Please outline your interest/ experience in science communication/ public engagement
I'm a researcher at the National Oceanography Centre in Southampton, using industry ROV technology to study the deep sea realm and have recently been accepted to study for a PhD in hydrothermal vent biogeography. I have a broad interest in science and a strong desire to communicate that to a wider audience and I've started writing popular science articles for the NOC website with the aim of eventually getting some of my articles into popular science publications. For now, I've been concentrating on marine stories, but any topic relating to the natural world fascinates me.
