Please outline your interest/ experience in science communication/ public engagement
A background in Environmental Science and Oceanography, combined with a passion for solving environmental and social problems has led towards a personal mission to become a better communicator of science. I'm privileged to live and work in South Africa, a vibrant and exciting place where science really needs to meet people for both to move forward to a better future.

I am currently studying MSc Oceanography at NOCS with an EPSRC studentship after gaining a first class BSc in Environmental Science (global change) at the University of Plymouth.

My main focus in my studies has been on global change, in particular human impacts on the carbon cycle and climate. I am continuing on this theme through my studies at NOCS, mostly focusing on biogeochemical cycling.

My ambition is to work in research however I also recognise the importance of contributing to the incorporation of science, in particular that related to the workings of the world around us, in to society. I also feel it necessary to help inspire people's interest in science, as I have been through my studies.
