I'm a virologist, and work on the molecular biology of influenza A virus - this is the most serious of the influenza viruses, causing severe disease in humans and animals as well as the occasional pandemic. After a PhD at the University of Cambridge (looking at
how influenza packages its genes into new viruses) I've moved to the University of Oxford for more fun with influenza.
I've spoken about viruses and cell biology to a range of audiences, and I have a particular interest in working with school children
